Entertaining Made Simple

We sometimes put off entertaining because we feel overwhelmed by the prospect of the event! Entertaining your friends and family, however, doesn’t need to be a daunting experience that we put off for years. Just think of the memories you’re missing out on by not inviting people into your home. Some of the following tips should help alleviate some of your anxiety about entertaining and hopefully make entertaining a joy for both guests and host!

An even simpler way to serve guests at a party would be setting out drinks on a counter top and having a selection of crackers and different cheeses. This can be done very attractively by setting out a clean cheese board and cheese cutter and allowing guests to cut slices of cheese themselves. Having soothing music in the background will add atmosphere to your party. In a short amount of time your guests will be chatting up a storm.

Games and other pre-planned activities should be kept to a minimum. This will alleviate a lot of stress of having to do something as opposed to just letting people have a good time.

You’ll know when the party is winding down as guests begin to leave. When your guests have subsided to about 5-8 left at the party offering them coffee or tea before they leave is a nice gesture and ends the evening on a lovely note.
